The Library of Congress in the United States has agreed to pay $100,000 to the former chief military prosecutor at Guantanamo Bay, the Washington Post reports. It will also correct his personnel file to state that he was unfairly fired for his criticism of the military.

Air Force Colonel Morris Davis and the American Civil Liberties Union have been fighting for seven years, in a case that will significantly impact whether federal employees can make private remarks to the public.

Davis was in charge of prosecutions in the US military prison at Guantanamo from 2005 until 2007. While there, he became strongly critical of the process for military commissions.
