Supreme Court Justice Yaakov Turkel believes that Israel’s Knesset is at times in need of restraint, and that there must be an authority to prevent inappropriate legislation.
Justice Turkel said on Thursday that the legislative and operational authorities must know when and how to restrain themselves. He expressed opposition to sentencing convicted terrorists to death and said that such as sentence should only be used in the case of Nazis and their accomplices.
