A spokesperson for the Taliban in Afghanistan confirmed on Wednesday morning that Taliban leader Akhtar Mansour was eliminated in Pakistan during an American attack over the weekend.
The Pentagon said after the elimination that Mansour was involved in planning an operation that served as “A specific and imminent threat” to the US and international forces in Afghanistan.
