Histadrut labor federation Chairman Avi Nissenkorn met on Monday with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and other officials and asked for immediate intensive talks on shortening the Israeli work week.
Nissenkorn wrote in his request that “I believe, and have raised the subject in the past, that the time has come to shorten the work week in Israel to a 40-hour work week and to establish six long weekends, in order to benefit the economy and the entire working population.”
