US federal authorities are investigating a number of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's associates on suspicion of corruption, Associated Press reports.
Two of Governor Cuomo's senior aides are the latest targets.
Cuomo himself denies any knowledge of illegal activity and has promised to "throw the book" and any violators.
"Did two people act improperly? Did they represent companies they shouldn't have? Was their undue influence with those companies?" he told reporters. "Those are the questions. We now need the answers."
