Gene Gutowski, a Polish-born Holocaust survivor who became a successful movie producer, has passed away at the age of 90.
He was best known for his work with director Roman Polanski, including the 2002 Oscar-winning film The Pianist.
Following the end of World War II, Gutowski worked with US military intelligence to track down Nazis in Germany, then moved to the US in 1947. After Communism ended in eastern Europe, though, he returned to Poland and spent his final years in Warsaw.
