Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu clarified on Tuesday statements that he made during a ceremony honoring those who fell while serving abroad, held at the Foreign Ministry.

“Israel’s policy is to defend its citizens who are threatened from all sides. In this case, I was referring to a coordinated act, not a unilateral move. We are happy that there was no need for a unilateral move and thank the Egyptian Army for dealing with the crisis in a responsible fashion. The Prime Minister greatly values Israel’s relationship with Egypt, as well as the peace deal with Egypt, an important stepping stone in the region’s stability,” a statement from the PM’s office read.
