MK Miki Zohar (Likud) has offered his congratulations to members of Allied forces in commemoration of the victory over the Nazis.
"Victory Day against Nazi Germany celebrates the contribution of a million and a half Jews who fought in the Allied militaries and partisan units during the Second World War," he said. "This includes half a million Jews who fought in Soviet Russia's Red Army."
MK Zohar continued: "Our enemies rise against us in every generation. Only 70 years ago, during the Second World War, we experienced the worst ordeal that the Jewish People have ever faced. We must not forget that Jewish fighters were a central part of the Allied victory."
