The parole board will meet in Hermon Prison today (Monday) in order to discuss Shlomi Lahiani's request for a shortened sentence.
Lahiani formerly served as the mayor of Bat Yam. He was sentenced to eight months in jail for corruption. He has served five months of the sentence so far, making him eligible for parole.
Channel 2 reports that the State is opposed to granting Lahiani parole.
