The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal to stop the appointment of Shas head Aryeh Deri as Interior Minister. Two justices opposed the appea, while one supported it.

Justice Salim Joubran said that "Deri's appointment to the position of Interior Minister, despite its inherent complications, is not unreasonable. I have not seen any direct connection between the actions attributed to Deri and his role as Interior Minister. I am confident that his crimes are not related to being Interior Minister and that they were not carried out using his authority as Interior Minister."
