The head of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Cemil Bayik, told the BBC that it is ready to escalate its attacks against Turkey, though claimed that this is only in response to a crackdown by Ankara.
"The Kurds will defend themselves to the end, so long as this is the Turkish approach - of course the PKK will escalate the war," he said.
Similarly, an advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey is not willing to negotiate or make concessions at this time.
