Three Europeans were detained while returning home after fighting against ISIS in the Middle East, BBC reports.

The group, which includes two people from the UK and one from Ireland, were all arrested in primarily-Kurdish northern Iraq. They were held in jail for over a week.

Irish Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan says, "I welcome Joshua's release and I am pleased that he is now on his way home to join his family in Ireland." Joshua Malloy is a former soldier in the Royal Irish Regiment.
