South African President Jacob Zuma is currently visiting Iran in an effort to improve business and political ties with the Islamic Republic, now that the international sanctions have been lifted.
Reuters reports that South Africa and Iran have signed eight cooperative agreements focusing on trade, industries, investment, agriculture, water resources and oil, though the specifics of the agreements have not yet been released.
Iran claims that the two countries also wish to increase their intelligence sharing.
