Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit banned the Women of the Wall movement from holding a women’s “Priestly Blessing” (Birkat Kohanot) ceremony at the Western Wall (Kotel) during Passover.
The Attorney General this adopted the same position as the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Kotel Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, according to which a female version of the traditional ceremony is not practiced at the Kotel.
