A team of government officials headed by Defense Ministry Director Dan Harel recommended to Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon that a plan be initiated to enable haredi (ultra-Orthodox) men who enlist in the IDF to enjoy discounts upon purchasing homes.
The team recommended to “Prepare criteria that will allow a significant discount upon purchasing a home and/or leniencies/preferential treatment upon allocating land to those who completed army service or participated in national-civil service from the haredi community.”
