Roughly 10 thousand soldiers were sent to areas along the coastline in Ecuador, in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit the country, AP reports. The soldiers are meant to help the locals and prevent looting.
At least 77 people were killed and over 570 people were injured as a result of the earthquake.
