Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders commented on his criticism of Israel last night (Thursday).

"Of course Israel has the right to defend itself. That's not up for debate," he said, adding: "We had some 10,000 civilians who were wounded, 1,500 who were killed. Was that a disproportionate attack? I believe it was."

In his earlier interview with the New York Daily News, Sanders claimed that Israel killed "over 10,000 innocents" during Operation Protective Edge. His latest numbers are closer to the truth, though still based on figures reported by Hamas.
