Charges were filed against a 29-year-old Arab man from Jerusalem’s Shuafat neighborhood, for setting fire to a doctor who once treated his son. The suspect was charged with intentionally causing severe physical harm and arson.
According to the charges, the suspect brought his infant son to a health care center in Shuafat so that both the suspect and his son could receive medical care. One of the doctors treated the father and son. Two days later, the baby was brought back to the clinic and was pronounced dead. The father subsequently poured gasoline over the doctor and set fire to the doctor’s body. The doctor suffered second degree burns on his hands and knees.
