A judge in the US state of New Jersey has declared the Republican candidate Ted Cruz is eligible to be president and can be included in the state's primary.

Associate Press reports that Judge Jeff Masin's ruling noted that a child born to an American parent is "indeed a natural born Citizen within the contemplation of the Constitution."

Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and Cuban father. Some of his critics have filed complaints, claiming that he is ineligible to be president because he was not born on US soil.
