Former Health Minister MK Yael German spoke on Wednesday during a meeting of the Committee on the Status of Women and Gender Equality on segregating Arab and Jewish mothers in maternity wards.
“Segregating the new mothers contradicts the national health law, ethics and morals, but first and foremost, the law. Racism is piggybacking off of the public health system, which is crumbling before our eyes. This is a warning light, reminding the public system to be above any discrimination and work according to the principles of justice, equality and reciprocity.”
