Zionist Union Chairman Yitzhak Herzog responded on Tuesday evening to calls from within his own party to take a leave of absence in light of the corruption scandal he has been linked to.
“Ever since (the investigation) was announced, I have publicly and personally stated that it is part of a leader’s role to deal with scandals that arise, as they tend to do, ahead of elections. I will travel to anywhere I need to go and will answer any question, claim… that needs to be answered, so that we can put this saga behind us.”
“The role of a leader is to cope, to lead and to win. You selected me to lead this party… and I intend to continue marching along this path, even if it is tough and full of obstacles,” Herzog emphasized.
