Hundreds of police and Border Police officers, supported by dogs trained to locate weapons, raided dozens of homes in Taybeh and Tirah. The raids were part of a large operation against the use and sales of illegal weapons.
The project began several months ago with undercover investigators. Since then, 27 suspects have been arrested for selling a Kalashnikov, an M-16, a Carl Gustav-style submachine gun, handguns and ammunition.
