Following reports of efforts to bring the Zionist Union party into the coalition, activists are working to get the signatures of dozens of Likud branch heads and organizations onto a petition against the move.
According to Maariv the push is led by David Grossberg, the head of the Likud branch in Gezer.
The petition explains that bringing Zionist Union into the government "would hurt the communities in Judea and Samaria and lead to tragedy. By the end of the year about 50 families will be evacuated from Amona and Ofra, and their homes destroyed, on the Supreme Court's orders. We are currently working to recognize the construction. The Zionist Union's entering the government would frustrate these efforts."
