MK Meir Cohen (Yesh Atid), a former welfare minister, on Wednesday called on Israeli citizens to avoid staying in hotels during the upcoming Passover holiday due to the high prices they are charging.

Citing the 30,000 shekels per night price for family at Israeli hotels during Passover, Cohen said, “These are inflated prices by any standard and I call on Israelis not to travel to the hotels this holiday season and I say this with responsibility mixed with sadness.”

“I am sorry to say this because it might harm the domestic tourism industry, but it is a sector that includes an agreement between two parties, so if the hotels are setting unreasonable prices, Israeli citizens should act accordingly,” he explained.
