Two Republican senators are trying to prevent the Obama administration from making it easier to use US dollars in transactions with Iran, Associated Press reports.
Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Mark Kirk (R-IL) titled their bill "Preventing Iran's Access to US State Dollars of 2016."
Officials with the government administration deny that they wish to give Iran access the US financial system or dollars, but are open to the possibility of letting Iran use dollars in an indirect manner, through offshore institutions.
