The Central Bureau of Statistics has found that infant mortality rates in Israel drops continuously between 2000 and 2014, though the gap between Arabs and Jews remains high.

In 2013, the life expectancy in Israel began to rise in comparison to the international rate of life expectancy at birth. Israel is ranked seventh among OECD countries, along with Iceland, with a life expectancy of 82.1 years. This is 1.6 years longer than the average OECD rate.
