The Electric Company reached a temporary agreement with senior Palestinian Authority officials, according to which the PA will transfer 20 million shekels to the Electric Company on Wednesday morning. The money transfer will prevent further power supply reductions in the PA.
Intensive talks will simultaneously begin between the sides in an attempt to reach an agreement on the 1.74 billion shekel debt the PA owes the Electric Company. If a deal is not reached within seven days, the Electric Company will resume reducing its power supply to PA communities, in an attempt to prevent the existing debt from growing.
