About 400,000 people across French protested against the government's intended labor reforms.
Security forces used tear gas against protesters who rioted and threw rocks in the cities of Nantes, Rennes and Toulouse. One hundred demonstrators were arrested in Paris, Toulouse and other locations.
The reforms include adjustments to the country's 35-hour workweek and measures to make it easier to fire employees.
