Interior Minister Aryeh Deri (Shas) has commented on his properties and the police investigation into his alleged corruption.
"Last night I discovered that we have become real estate moguls. I woke (my wife) Yaffa and told her, 'How did we not know about this until today? Maybe we missed something.' We checked and found that we have one apartment, in which we raised nine children and we are still paying the mortgage," he said.
He then explained why he chose to build a vacation home in the north. "We love the country and the Galilee. We decided to build in Safsufa in order to spend time there on vacations and holidays. The house belongs to our children and grandchildren."
