Opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog (Zionist Union) continues to insist that investigation into his alleged illegal activities is no more than a political attack.
"I encourage everyone to remain calm. Before every general or internal election there are political leaders who try to topple us and to turn the police into part of their campaign against us," he said.
"We know this manner very well. We have deal with it in the past and we will strongly respond to any attempt to make the police part of any election campaign."
Yesterday (Wednesday) it was announced that police are investigating allegations of corruption by Herzog, as well as by Interior Minister Aryeh Deri (Shas).
