500 women and children were abducted at the end of 2014 in northeastern Nigeria by the Boko Haram terrorist organization, but local authorities ignored the event, a local village elder told a French news agency.
“We did not report the abductions out of fear that we would anger the government, who was already dealing with the disgrace caused by the abduction of a group of schoolgirls in 2014.”
