Young Likud on Wednesday night called on the Israeli police to launch a broad investigation against opposition leader MK Yitzhak Herzog, "who attempts to repeatedly buy power illicitly, while breaking the party financing law". The statement came following reports that the Attorney General had ordered a probe into alleged corruption by Herzog.
Young Likud’s statement said, "We remember well Herzog’s silence in the investigation room in the NGOs investigation and the V15 organization which tried to overthrow the Likud, and now there are suspicions about his conduct in the Labor party primaries.”
“Such a person is unworthy of leading the opposition in Israel and he would do well to suspend himself until the truth comes out,” the statement concluded.
