Yael Patir, the director of the J Street lobby in Israel, slammed the appointment of Dani Dayan to Consul General of Israel in New York.
According to Patir, appointing a person affiliated with the “settlements” in Judea and Samaria to a senior position in New York, sends a problematic message to American Jews, “according to which, Israel is one ideological bloc that wavers between right-wing and extreme right-wing ideologies, and is likely to distance most of America’s Jews who believe that the “settlements” are detrimental to Israel’s security.
