MK Eyal Ben Reuven (Zionist Union) has commented on the soldier arrested for shooting a neutralized terrorist in Hevron. He said that, at this time, it would not be right to blindly accept the army's designation of him as a murderer.

Ben Reuven, a former IDF general, told Galei Yisrael: "There was certainly a normative problem in the soldier's actions. This soldier is not at all a murderer, and definitely not at this stage. In my opinion, the concept of suspected murder is not acceptable at this time. The military prosecutors are speaking in legal terms and I hope that this phrase is not correct."

He added, "The soldier, in my opinion, is not currently suspected of murder. That is to say, the word 'murder' here is a strong word and not a good one. I certainly accept this statement. But to say that harm was done to the behavioral norms we expect from IDF soldiers in not only necessary, it is our duty."
