A court has sentenced a US Navy officer to almost four years in prison after he was convicted of giving classified information to a Malaysian defense contractor.

In return, the BBC reports that Captain Daniel Dusek was allowed to stay in luxury hotels and was given prositutes.

In giving her ruling, the judge noted, "It is truly unimaginable to the court that someone in your position with the United States Navy would sell out based on what was provided to you - hotel rooms, entertainment and the services of prostitutes."

Dusek was also instructed to pay $30,000 to the Navy as restitution and a $70,000 fine.
