Interior Minister Aryeh Deri (Shas) has asked that the government extend the pilot program for biometric identification by nine months.
Deri made his request to the head of the joint committee for biometric implementation, MK Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home). He called for the committee to meet next week in order to vote on the extension.
