IDF Spokesperson, Brigadier-General Moti Almoz, responded to the case surrounding the IDF soldier who shot a terrorist dead.
From a professional standpoint, we determined that the soldiers acted appropriately and we praised their acts which led to the terrorists being rapidly thwarted. From a moral standpoint, we determined that this was a severe event, following an initial questioning of the officers. The soldier is in questioning. We are listening and will listen to him. We will hear his version and the law and justice enforcement systems will make a decision. We will not abandon him. There will be no field trial, no lynching.”
