Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said at the start of Sunday’s Cabinet meeting that “I woud like to send my condolences to the family of Brigadier-General Munir Amar, who fell in a tragic plane crash in the Galilee. Munir was an excellent soldier and officer. He excelled in all of his roles, including in his last role, as head of the Civil Administration. He felt compelled to defend the State of Israel, his state, our state.”
Netanyahu also responded to the incident during which an IDF officer shot dead a terrorist in Hevron. The PM said that “Subverting the IDF’s morals is outrageous and wrong. IDF soldiers, our children, keep to the highest moral levels, while bravely fighting blood thirsty murderers under tough operational conditions. I am certain that in each case, even in the current one, the investigation takes all conditions into account. We must all support the IDF’s Chief-of-Staff, the Israel Defense Forces and our soldiers, who safeguard us.”
