Yesterday (Saturday) plans for a European conference on the subject were announced. Initial expectations called for the UK to send about 1,000 troops, while Italy would sent 5,000 and France an unspecified number.
Last week, US President Barack Obama accused UK Prime Minister David Cameron of not paying proper attention to Libya following the 2011 overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi. He suggested that the North African country's power vacuum paved the way for ISIS to enter.
