MK Michal Rozin (Meretz) has offered his opinion on the proposed Mikveh Law, which was passed by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation today (Sunday).
"It is a democratic country's duty to provide religious services and not to blatantly exclude entire sectors of the population from services completely funded by their tax money," he said. "It's shameful to see the Israeli Prime Minister frightened by the Orthodox institute's political blackmail and that he's willing to sell the Supreme Court's decision for his and his coalition's political survival."
MK Rozin added that "this is a deepening of Orthodox Judaism's violent religious coercion on the public service institutes, as well as a worsening of the status quo and the delicate fabric of life in Israel."
