Jewish Home Director Shuli Mualem-Rafaeli has commented on the proposed Mikveh Law.
"The Mikveh Law will only be advanced in accordance with Jewish Home's agreement," she said. "The procedures that were set out while Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan was in the Ministry of Religious Services must be implemented, and the legislative process carried out in a manner that will enable us to monitor and ensure that it is truly happening. In addition, there must be oversight and supervision for the mikvehs and the attendants available through a telephone center."
MK Mualem-Rafaeli added that "Immersion is a female commandment and we must ensure that nothing infringes on the women's privacy and comfort for them to continue. If the conditions that we have placed are not met, I will oppose the law."
