IDF chief defense counsel Colonel Asher Halperin, currently representing Brigadier-General Ofek Buchris in a sexual assault case, responded to the IDF Chief-of-Staff’s decision to cancel Buchris’s appointment to head of the Operations Division.
“This sort of investigation takes time,” Halperin said, adding that “Buchris announced to the IDF Chief-of-Staff that he understands the decision.”
“Eizenkot’s decision was only made because of the expected lengthy process of the trial,” Halperin emphasized.
