A readjustment of Facebook's tax structure means that it will pay millions more in UK taxes, the BBC reports.

The social networking company has come under heavy criticism for allegedly avoiding paying taxes. Previously it routed advertising sales from major customers, including Tesco, Sainsbury's and WPP, though Ireland and did not pay the 20 percent corporation tax on those profits.

Smaller sales, whose transactions do not require Facebook staff involvement, will still go through Facebook's international headquarters in Ireland.
