A prominent British imam, Muhammed Asim Hussain, is praising a Muslim man who was executing for murdering a pro-Christian politician, Breitbart reports.
Hussain shared a picture of Ghazi Mumtaz on Facebook and wrote: "A dark day in the history of Pakistan; the day Ghazi Mumtaz was wrongfully executed and martyred in the way of Allah, when he did what he did in honour of the Prophet."
Mumtaz was executed earlier his week for the murder of Salmaan Taseer. The Pakistani Taliban took credit for Taseer's death and claimed they killed him because of his opposition to the way Pakistan's blasphemy laws are used against Christians.
Imam Hussain is a regular preacher at the Manchester Central Mosque and claims to "tirelessly travel throughout the UK to inspire the youth to the way of Islam."
