Iran will remove all of its troops from Syria, Channel 2 reports. The Islamic Republic currently has 2,500 soldiers in the country, all taken from the Revolutionary Guards.
The decision was made by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani. However, 700 "military advisers" are to stay to support President Bashar al-Assad.
Over the past two years, about 160 Iranian troops have been killed in Syria and more than 300 more injured.
Iran will also continue supporting Hezbollah with weapons.
