MK Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home) filed on Sunday morning a request for an expedited debate of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee on the matter of a new and stringent instruction regarding IDF soldiers shaving their facial hair.
The Association of Hesder Yeshivas (Torah Academies that combine religious learning with IDF service) claimed that hundreds of their students who asked to be allowed to keep their beards either did not receive responses or were forced to shave their facial hair, without receiving an explanation for the decision.
