MK Tzipi Livni (Zionist Union) responded to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s declarations in Berlin regarding his continued support of the “Suspension Bill.”
“Netanyahu claims that democracy has the right to defend itself. He is right. Israeli democracy must be defended, but against the anti-democratic legislation of Netanyahu himself. Democracy without limitations placed against the person leading it and without a separation of authorities, is called a dictatorship. We will defend Israel’s democracy so that it does not become one (a dictatorship).”
