Interior Minister Aryeh Deri (Shas) has instructed his ministry to transfer the control over electric bicycles to city municipalities. The decision came after Deri met with involved professionals.
The transfer, which has been coordinated with local authorities and the Ministries of Transport and Public Security, will allow the local authorities to increase their control over electric bicycle owners. Many are concerned over dangers presented by the bikes to pedestrians.
