The US Congress has approved a bill to fight against forced labor, particularly in Africa and Southeast Asia. The bill specifically targets fish that are caught by slaves, gold mined by children, and clothing made by abused women.
Last year, Associated Press exposed a number of Thai companies that use slave workers to catch fish, which are then sold to leading US stores and restaurants, including Wal-Mart, Whoel Foods and Red Lobster.
All of the companies named in the report say that they are working to change their systems.
