Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan (Jewish Home) has commented on reports of a signed agreement with the Marmanet company that will administer the exams for the Rabbinate and rabbinical court judges.
"I am happy that the seeds I planted have born fruit," he said. "Although I was slandered as a result of this important revolution, we have brought the declaration to a stage in which it cannot be stopped and so it will come into effect. The revolution is designed to make the services more efficient for each of the thousands of people tested for the Rabbinate and for rabbinical judicial positions, and I hope that it will do so."
